# 0059

# 0079

# 6531-33

# 00599: "Mom's Rock" - A photograph of the beautiful texture I found one summer day while wandering the front yard looking for some long forgotton lost item. The large decorative rock by the road provided the texture for this frame.

# 00625: "Looking Through the Glass"

# 10820: "Summer's End" - A long look down 800 S late August 2009 shows the summer season coming to an end as the clouds linger overhead, the corn waiting to be picked.

# 11178: "Leaning Red" - I found this scene outside a hospital as I visited a family member - I wandered around the parkinglot that day, photographing a variety of trees and leaves in mid-fall color changes. This leaning red-leafed specimen was located across the road and over a river, giving me only a wide-angled lok at the scene. The red leaves provide a beautiful contrast against the still-green leaves of the neighboring trees.

# 00553: Yellow Leaf on Water, #2

# 00528: "October Buds" - Budding flowers found outside Pleasnt Hill Church one afternoon, basking in the mild late fall weather.

# 00536: "Fall Leaves on Backstay-Welt" - The east wall of the old Backstay-Welt building was covered in leafy vines late in October 2009. Driving past on my way to work, I couldn't resist pulling over and photographing this beautiful fall display.

# 00541: "Barn in Field" - (I never did claim to be a creative titler!) I found this barn poking its head above the gray corn stalks on the east side of 800 S one Saturday afternoon.

# 0161: "Hanger Fetish" - The first day with my new camera, my wife and I were in the laundrymat doing, well, doing laundry. As she folded the clothes, I snapped photos of everything I could think of. Though quite random and meaningless, for some reason I find this photo to be particularly visually appealing.

# 00262: "Metal Rim Packing Forms, #1"

# 0330: "Thanksgiving Preparations" - Grandmother cooks as the sisters discuss the finer points of grandmother's cooking, while the dog comtemplates the quickest method for sneaking off with the turkey while nobody looks.

# 0489: "Sitting Room at Grandma's House"

# 00485: "Birds, #1" - Outside PCI on a late November evening in 2009, I noticed the birds seemed to have a facination with the power lines above SR 32. Each fall they gather in huge numbers (hundreds to thousands) and perch there for hours.

# 00498: "Osborne's Lake" - Driving north on 800 E to the church one evening, I noticed the sunset beautifully reflected in the lake next to the Osborne's house on the south end of 800. I pulled over and spent a good twenty minutes playing with different exposures and different angles, trying to capture the beauty of the moment.

# 0149: "South on State Line" - A cold late-November afternoon in 2009 provides the backdrop for this baren tree.

# 00007: "Corn" - (Yet another original title brought to you by your local photographer.) One of Kent Thornburg's corn stalks on 800 E graciously allowed me to photograph it's smiling yellow kernels as it basked in the Decmeber sun.

# 00014: "Tree on Country Line Road, #3"

# 00057: "Christmas in Union City"

# 00094: "Colorful Salad #1" - My wife's patience seems neverending as we go out to eat. We both go to the buffet, we both bring back food. One of us eats their food, while the other sits and plays with it before eating. Such was the scene for this photo - she sat there and patiently chuckled at my contortions as I tried to get just the right image of this colorful collection of salad fixin's.

# 0125: "Sunset on 227"

# 0093: Cannonball by the Water

# 01171: "Dancing in Red"

# 0138: "Two for Dancing"

# 0144: "Splish-Splash"

# 0185: "Three to Fly"

# 0291: "Bored Model" - Bueno tires of my repeatedly flashing her with strobes in this cute Chistmas pose with her favorite toy - anything round!

# 0108: "Happy Ties" - I found this extra railroad tie laying beside an old, unused railroad bridge above Jackon Pike. Yes, it was like this when I found it - and it probably still sits there to this day!

# 0123: "King Rivet"

# 0131: "Shopping Spree" - Yet again, my wife allows me to bring my camera along as we go shopping. As with our "Hanger Fetish" photograph earlier, I just find this photo inexplicably visually appealing - even though it really is rather common.

# 0129: "Moon and Barn" - Seen on 800 E, found as I was wandering around on the bridge by the Lisbon curve.

# 0053: "Quiet Tracks" - Looking west down the tracks, deceptively quiet where minutes before the train ran past. Give it a few, it will be noisy again. 30 second exposure, beautiful sky.

# 00591: "Long Shot" - This train I was ready for - I set the 2 sec self timer and fired right before the engine hit the crossing. 15 second exposure, highlighting the headlights of the engine.

# 0060: "Winter Train" - I was standing literally 10 feet from the tracks as the train passed - it was louder than I had every expected. The surface of the road where the road meets the tracks looks smooth, but as the train raced past at more than 50 miles an hour, the snow swirled in amazing patterns. I had to shield my eyes with my gloves for fear the train would kick some rock or other debris in my face as I waited for the shutter to close.

# 0079: "Winter Train, #2" - The shadow of crossing guard pole is clearly visible in the blur of the passing cars against the backdrop of the streetlight. This is the last shot I managed to get that night before deciding I was far too cold to continue this project.

# 0639: "Baby Spence 3"

# 0146: "Bueno"

# 0021: "Water Droplets on Shower Curtain" - Found on a hotel shower curtain after a shower, the reflected and refracted light from these droplets just facinated me - I couldn't resist photographing them.

# 00531: "Water Droplets on Shower Curtain, #2"

# 0233: "Stained Glass at PHC"

# 0243: "Stained Glass at PHC, #2"

# 0247: "Stained Glass at PHC, #3"

# 0312: "Chinese at the Chinese Buffet"

# 0172: "January Snow at PHC"

# 0175: "January Snow at PHC, #2"

# 0209: "Winter Crystal"

# 0275: "Crain Preparation" - A worker tightens a bolt in preparation for assembling a Mantowic crain to be used in the construction of the north wind turbine in Union City.

# 0369: "Saw Chain" - I saw this chain laying on the deck of the crain as it waited to be assembled. I saw, I photographed, I liked. (You see?)

# 00601: "Foggy Day on 800E"

# 0163: "Snowy Day, Backstay-Welt"

# 0191: "Snowy Day, Backstay Welt #2"

# 0132: "Frozen Berries" - Found clinging to life on a bush outside PCI.

# 00211: "Church and Clouds, #2"

# 0075: "Arizona Tree"

# 0176: "Yellow Spectacle" - Found outside Pleasant hill Church, blooming early in a blatant attempt to defy winter's quickly-slipping grasp.

# 0059-1: "Mountain and Clouds, Arizona"

# 0075-1: "Powerline and Clouds, Arizona"

# 0026: "Dotted Beauty"

# 3425: "Summer Vines at Backstay-Welt, #2"

# 3535: "Ashley in April" - We were just having fun one day in April, going on a walk I think. I took somewhere around a hundred photos of her that day - this one and the next turned out amazingly well.

# 3538: "Ashley in April, #2" - One in a hundred (literally) photos - Ashley, my beautiful wife.

# 6032: "Taking Along a Snack" - One day I was watching the baby geese, and found this little guy eating on the bank. As I snuck closer, the mommy goose called her little ones into the water with her - this straggler was the last one in, still chewing on the grass as he swam.

# 6827: "Baby Party" - Baby geese resting in the grass beside the lake in front of PCI. Only a few days old, they are shorter than the dandilion stems surrounding their resting spot.

# 6982: "Babies in Formation"

# 0777: "Petty Disagreement" - This baby appears to be in strong disagreement with one of his siblings over the sharing of food.

# 1944: "Lilly Under Lights"

# 1959: "Lilly Under Lights, #2"

# 1974: "Lilly Under Lights, #3"

# 3726: "Pink Hello"

# 3747: "Smell Test"

# 3771: "Water on Rose"

# 7852: "Growing Up on the Bank" - A few weeks later, the baby geese have grown up, longer necks and bigger bodies. These beauties are just weeks away from flying off on their own.

# 2432: "Blue Beauty"

# 2570: "Sunset on 28"

# 2608: "Sunset on 28, #2"

# 2610: "Sunset on 28, #3"

# 2619: "Sunset on 28, #4"

# 5056: "Baby Rose" - Found this little rose bud up at my parents house in June, just before budding.

# 5062: "Budding Rose" - This little rose just started budding the week this photo was taken up at my parents house.

# 7428: "Rain on Leaves, #1" - After a heavy rain in June, I found the tree outside my apartment balcony covered in water droplets still clinging to the leaves. Using a tripod and a long zoom lense, I was able to get close enough to see the veins on the leaves.

# 7442: "Rain on Leaves, #2" - Another leaf covered in water droplets after the rain.

# 7453: "Rain on Leaves, #3"

# 3509: "Summer Sunset, #2"

# 0398: "Back Roads"

# 3019: "Evening Song"

# 3041: "Ruffled Feathers"

# 9426: "Sunset Over 32"

# 5628: "Radiating Wires"

# 6236: "Recessed Growth"

# 6266: "Beautiful Color"

# 6420: "Night at Shell"

# 6433: "McDonalds Action"

# 6435: "McDonalds Action, #2"

# 6456: "Open Lines" - An old telegraph pole beside the railroad at Columbia St in Union City, Indiana. Before the advent of a central switching office and trunked lines for telephones, the telegraph lines each had to be run individually from one telegraph office to the next. You can see the many individual lines that ran over this pole when it was in full servce - visible are at least fifty different lines (pairs of wires) on this pole.

# 6733: "Fall Left"

# 1181-1: "Yellow Beauty"

# 1606: “Sparkling Water” - Water being shot out of a slit in the top of a 16oz water bottle is light by the backlight as it sprays into the bowl below, causing streaks of light to trace the path of each water droplet as it falls.

# 1619: "Sparkling Water, #2"

# 1678: "Sparkling Water, #3"

# 1685: “Incomming” - A second barage of water from above right after the first finished causes droplets to streak down, looking much like incomming missiles.

# 1697: "Last Droplet Leaving"

# 1700: “Crystal Ball” - A surface tension break from the pan above forms an elongated droplet culminating in an oval crystaline sphere of water, reflecting a mirror image of the surrounding setup. The water droplet is frozen in space by the action of the top-mounted camera flash, and the streak is caused by the model light from below.

# 1723: "Chasing Rain"

# 1731: "Race to the Bottom"

# 1743: “Shotgun Red” - A stream of water chases a droplet across the red backdrop hanging the wall.

# 5380: "City Reflection #1" - A water droplet hangs below a plastic tube ferrying water away from an airconditioner unit outside my apartment, reflecting the city building across the street.

# 5403: "City Reflections #2" - As water builds within the bubble, a second sphere forms below the first and the internal refraction inverts the lower image onto the upper sphere causing the building to begin appearing almost normal.

# 5502: “Come on, make my day.”

# 5815: "Sunrise Across the State Line"

# 5886: "Sunset in Winchester" - Clouds lightly dust the sky as the sun sinks below the horizon west of Highway 27 in Winchester, illuminating the sky with a wonderfully smooth color gradient from the horizon to the heavens.

# 5934: "Water to Well"

# 7019: "Sunset on 27" - Traveling north on 27 out of Winchester, I notice the sun hiding behind a barn. Ashley graciously condedes to letting me pull over and capture the silhouette of the farm against the evening light.

# 7075: "Pew Back, Up Close" - An up-close image of the textured backing for a church pew.

# 7086: "Case Texture" - A close-up photograph of a cell phone protective casing.

# 8668: "Red Vines" - Approaching the east face of the old Backstay-Welt building, I noticed this army of vines sweeping across the brick facade. Again the shutter clicked.

# 8677: "Window Rust" - Streaks of rust etch fine patterns in the wall below an old metal panel covering some hole in the wall of the Backstay-Welt building.

# 8680: "Vines on a Pipe" - Against the rust and decay of the old rail around a window sill at the Backstay building, this vine makes itself at home basking in the Saturday morning sun.

# 8743: "Colorful Brick" - Colorful bricks form an appealing pattern and texture on the side of the building across from the Backstay building.

# 8919: "Marbled Sky and Tree at Harter Park"

# 0057: "Reindeer Cupcakes" - Created by my lovely wife Ashley.
